Foolish parents

Dot writes: Ken and I went toy-shopping today with Hugh. We were planning to buy him a new toy helicopter, as the one he had (which improbably came originally from a giant kinder egg, and was given us by my colleague Helen) has fallen to bits from overuse. Instead we fell in love with this gorgeous toy farm.
It is a rather complicated construction of painted wooden pieces that slot together, and Ken spent quite a long time assembling it. But you really should pay attention to the specified age range when buying toys. This one said 3-8 years.
I’ve put it away safely on a high shelf until such time as Hugh might have a less…vigorous approach to playing with it.
