Ireland’s Sugar High

Ken writes:

I’ve had Bell X1’s album “Bloodless Coup” for a few months now, but I’ve only just recently listened to the lyrics closely enough to realise this song is about the Celtic Tiger developers.

It’s good.

You’re right, Ken. It is very fine. I listened to it all through and watched the video; then I googled up the words and listened to the music with the words. It’s a really fine song. Many thanks for the blog.

Even in this context (Celtic developers, econ101, global market, et al.) or perhaps especially so, “Sugar High” reminds me of “Twinkie Defense.” Guess I’ll have to read through the lyrics like mairij did.
